Rock Face Base – Concrete Panel

Are concrete fence panels cheaper than wood? Concrete fence panels are more expensive than wooden ones but don’t need high maintenance. Wood fencing is generally cheaper than concrete fence panels with their upfront costs. They are also easier to install and thus cost less for installation. Concrete fence panels would need higher cost to be installed and the material is more expensive than wood. However, the concrete fence slabs are longer lasting than the wooden ones.  A concrete base panel can last for up to 30 years depending on exposure. Unlike wooden panels, it won’t rot or need treatment against pests.  These are also more durable against adverse weather conditions, like storms and heavy rains. How heavy are concrete fence panels? At City Fencing, we have our rock face base panels in 12 inches and 6 inches size. The half foot (6ft x 6in) fence panel is about 18-22 kg and one foot (6ft x 12in) fence panel weighs around 35-45 kg.  What is the best base to put under concrete? For installing a concrete fence panel, you need to lay a solid foundation that enhances the strength of the panels. The best options could be: Postmix It’s one of the easiest options and ready to use. It sets up quickly and just needs water to be added.  Ballast and Cement You can use a mix of ballast and cement that mixes up sand with gravel. This can be a more controlled way to adjust the quantity and strength needed to set up the concrete fence panels.  10 mm limestone This can be used as a first layer before using postmix. It gives a good way to let water around the concrete fence panels drain and prevent it from any damage.  How can we maintain the Rock Face fence panels? To make them look clean and shiny, the concrete fence slabs should be cleaned at least 2-3 times in a year (depending on the weather conditions).  You can also use a bleach solution to make them cleaner. Address small cracks (if any) for longer durability.
